Deliveries of PCI and STEAM coal
PCI COAL
Pulverised Coal for Injection (PCI coal) is a grade of coal that is produced by the way including the process of blowing large volumes of fine coal granules into the Blast Furnace of Steel mills, Pig iron producers and pellet plants. This procedure is a widely practiced technology in blast furnaces that allows to replace part of coke by non-coking coal while producing steel. Therefore, the use of PCI allows a steel maker to reduce the amount of coke needed in the steel making process.
STEAM COAL
Steam coal is a grade of coal used in electric power and other energy needing plants to generate steam when producing electricity. Steam coal has a lower energy content and higher moisture if compared with metallurgical coal and is used for heating purposes.
